BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Emergency dive crews have recovered the body of a man who went under the water at Lake Lowell earlier Friday.
The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says there was a call into dispatch about a possible drowning at the lower dam area of Lake Lowell, and that marine deputies and rescue swimmers on scene.
Authorities tell CBS2 the call came in at about 12:07 p.m. An Ada County dive team has also responded to the scene and was in the water at about 4:20 p.m.
The dive team was on their last search of the evening, running low on oxygen when one of them stepped on the body while getting back into the lake, according to the Canyon County Coroner’s Office.
The body was found in about 10 feet in water.
Officials say they found a fishing pole where the man went into the water. Officials have not yet identified the man.
