He was practically non-existent in the life of his son. Jimmy was one of his neighbourhood’s top baseball players. When Mike was two years old, Kirkpatrick abandoned his wife and kids leaving them to struggle financially. Tyson had to be raised in a community with a high rate of crime and this contributed to his violent nature.

Mama Mike has had a great influence on her son but sadly this role was more negative than positive. She had a formidable presence that ended up skewing his perceptions of women. Lorna never believed in her son. Even when he started doing well in boxing and his name was everywhere, Smith considered him insane. To her, Mike was a good for nothing son who had let her hopes down countless number of times. She only knew ‘Iron Mike’ as one wild kid that was known as a street fighter. Lorna died to cancer when Tyson was 16 leaving him in the care of his surrogate father and trainer Cus D’Amato.

Rodney is five years older than his boxer brother, Tyson. They lived in the slum growing up but today, Rodney is a trauma surgeon. He is in fact one of the No 1 trauma guy in the country. Sadly these brothers, do not see each other so often. Mike says his family is not one of those families with close ties, he blames this on the many demons and pains in his family.

Jimmie Lee Kirkpatrick (he can be half-brother or step-brother from previous Jimmy Kirkpatrick’s relationships)

In interview to Chicago tribune Mike said that he had a step-brother from North Carolina who was a high school football star. Other sources say that Jimmie is Tyson’s half-brother.

She died at the age of 24 due to a heart attack. She was the only sister Mike had and he loved her dearly in the midst of his trouble-filled childhood. He was closed with her and spoke on the phone often. Denise had two kids with her husband Roger, daughter Erica and son Roger Jr.

Tyson tied the knot with Robin Givens and they were together for only one year. This one year was hell according to Givens as she accuses her ex-husband of spousal abuse and mental instability.

He spent 3 years out of his jail term then was released in 1995. Monica was the next on his list after his release and just a month after being acquitted, he started dating the then paediatric resident.

Turner is now a Paediatrician and is the second wife to the youngest man to win the title of undisputed champion. She filed for a divorce in January 2002 on the basis of adultery but already had two kids with the world renowned star.

Two weeks after he lost his four year old daughter Exodus, the heavyweight champion married for the third time. Michael describes this third marriage as a life changing one. Since he has been married to Kiki, he says life has turned a more positive leaf. He credits his wife for rescuing him from a life of despair.

The first time the couple ever met was when she was 18 and was at a boxing event with her father who was an influential Muslim cleric. After being warned not to mess around with her, the stubborn star still went ahead and by the time Kiki was 23, they had started dating casually. They were on and off several times and each time only became stronger.

Both of them reconnected finally while they were both in their darkest phases of life. Spicer had just served six months jail term from a rime related with her father’s fraudulent company. Tyson at the time was battling drug addiction. They had their daughter Milan around this same time and Mike realized that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with as she remained there for him after he hit rock bottom.
