LOGAN, Utah — A home built in the 1860s caught fire in Logan Saturday.
According to the Logan City Fire Department, it was the third structure fire they responded to in under 36 hours.
The call came in at approximately 8:38 a.m., though LCFD said they believe the fire had been burning for a while before it was detected.
Crews were responding to another fire in Logan, but a conveniently timed shift change brought a fresh crew to fight this fire.
The old home had been converted into separated apartment units. The occupants were home at the time of the fire but safely evacuated.
There was one reported injury to a firefighter who was seen at the hospital, but there were no major injuries, according to Battalion Chief John Fullmer.
Five engines, a ladder truck, and an ambulance responded to the scene coming from several local agencies in Cache Valley including Logan City Fire Department, Wellsville Fire Department, Hyrum Fire Department and Smithfield Fire Department.
The fire was cleared at approximately 2:45 p.m. after hours of fighting the fire.
